What is a wood visual grade?
As a natural material, wood has a highly varied structure and appearance. Unlike laminate flooring, whose surface features a digitally printed image designed to imitate wood, real wooden floorboards naturally vary in pattern, grain structure and colour.
To minimize this effect, manufacturers of wooden floors have divided the wood into the so-called classes of visual selection. The investor can then decide which class suits him best.
Should it be a board highly selected with a minimal amount of knots or a more diverse product giving the interior a rustic character. It should be noted that the selection of wood concerns only its appearance and is not related to its quality.
Prices of more selected raw materials will be higher because there is simply less of it. We distinguish several basic classes of visual selection, including:
- select/natur,
- standard,
- rustical,
- country.
However, the nomenclature and characteristics of classes at different producers may vary slightly.
