Sanding and refinishing
Time usually works against us. This also applies to varnished wooden floors, whose durability and aesthetic qualities significantly decrease with the passing years. Fortunately, this process can be stopped, and even reversed. Parkiet Studio offers professional services in the scope of sanding wooden floors, which are safe for the parquet flooring and at the same time restore its lost shine.
During sanding, the top layer of the parquet that has been damaged/worn out is removed. We use a special machine for this, commonly known as a floor sander. In this device, the sanding paper is fed by a special drum, which is controlled by an electric motor. After removing the damaged layer, the floor is re-varnished.
At the beginning of the work, our qualified employee thoroughly cleans the floor surface from all elements and impurities that could disrupt the operation of the floor sander. The room must be emptied of furniture and equipment, and also cleaned of dust. We will also remove the baseboards to access every nook of the parquet. Then the floor sander will start its work, quickly removing damaged varnish coatings from the parquet. The sanded floor is then polished to remove any scratches and scrapes that naturally occur during sanding. Any remaining dust particles will be continuously removed with a high-efficiency vacuum cleaner - also from hard-to-reach areas. In the final stage, the floor will be re-varnished so that its surface can once again be visually pleasing.
At Parkiet Studio, we only use the most modern floor sanders and polishers, which operate reliably, safely for the parquet, and exceptionally efficiently.
