Priming the surface

To correctly install wooden floors on a screed, it will be necessary to prepare the substrate properly in advance, including its consolidation and increasing adhesion by priming. Mechanical cleaning and priming should be done on the same day, preferably the day before the planned floor installation. Firstly, the screed surface is thoroughly sanded. It's crucial to apply primer to the screed that was sanded on the same day to avoid clogging the screed pores, mainly caused by impurities and dust. It is important not to use the room between sanding and priming, where the floors will be installed. Walking on the prepared substrate before priming or performing other tasks that could hinder the penetration of the screed pores by the primer is not recommended. The next day, when the primer properly sets, you can proceed with further work. Depending on the screed's moisture content, this may involve either installing the floors or drying out the moisture. Preparing the substrate in this way ensures an effective installation of wooden floors. It significantly reduces the likelihood of the wood glue detaching from the screed surface during work, which could result in damage to the wooden floor, necessitating the replacement of boards and sanding.
