Staircase installation
Stairs are undoubtedly an incredibly important element of any building that has more than one floor. They are not only a functional element, but also a visual one. The properly chosen construction of stairs also determines the safety and comfort of their users. However, it is not only the construction that is important, but also the material they are made of and the way the whole structure is assembled.
One of the most popular materials used for stairs is, of course, wood. This material is valued not only for its aesthetics and naturalness, but also for its pleasant texture. In buildings, you can find stairs with constructions made entirely of wood, as well as concrete stairs covered with a wooden structure.
Wooden stairs can be divided into:
- Straight single-flight stairs - steps of equal width arranged one after the other in a straight line.
- Normal double-flight stairs - a construction consisting of two single-flight stair structures placed in different directions, connected by a half-landing.
- Turning stairs - stairs similar to double-flight stairs, but instead of a typical landing, there are several steps that are specially shaped (their width varies).
- Fan stairs - the steps have a trapezoidal shape and are arranged in an arched form.
- Spiral/helix stairs - steps are arranged around a central pillar.
Of course, the type of wooden stairs construction should be chosen to match the interior design and spatial possibilities, but functionality and comfort for residents should also not be forgotten.
The installation technique depends on the construction of the stairs, their material, and the spatial possibilities of the interior. Particularly durable are concrete stairs structures covered with wooden boards. The covering can be solid, or wooden boards can be mounted only on the steps, leaving the concrete riser exposed. The installation of stairs of this type is one of the simplest and fastest, and the resulting structure is exceptionally stable, safe, and durable over time. The work mainly involves securely attaching wooden steps to the substrate using dowels or glue. Our employees will also pay special attention to finishing the edges of the boards and aesthetically mounting the wall strips. On the other hand, installing spiral wooden stairs is more complex. First and foremost, proper installation of the central pillar, which is a load-bearing element of the structure, must be ensured. In the case of open fan stairs, the steps are usually attached to the structure using expansion screws, while wall-mounted stairs often require solid attachment to the wall.
