Terrace installation

Undoubtedly, a solid foundation is one of the most important aspects when it comes to a terrace. Above all, the terrace foundation should be securely and durably embedded in the ground to ensure the safety of people on top. The terrace base is installed in various ways, depending on the type of substrate. For loose substrates, such as sands, gravels, or soil, screw foundations work best, as well as driven or cast-in anchors. If the terrace base is to be placed on a solid substrate, such as a concrete screed or paving blocks, the best way to secure it will be anchors fixed with screws.

Anchors are also perfect for installing other terrace elements, including railings and posts. Parkiet Studio offers high-quality steel anchors that are additionally galvanized, increasing their durability significantly. If needed, we also provide custom anchors, such as adjustable anchors, which allow anchoring and leveling even atypical-sized posts.

Deck boards are mounted using one of two proven installation systems. These are modern invisible mounting systems or exceptionally durable screws, which work perfectly with any type and cross-section of deck boards.

Especially invisible systems are popular among our clients because they allow for quick installation of a terrace without visible joints, with the highest durability. Solid and stable connections are created by specially matched system profiles, protecting the deck boards from excessive cracking and warping. The system utilizes high-quality plastics and stainless steel, protecting the terrace from biodegradation and stains.

The second method of installing deck boards is with durable screws that simply connect wooden terrace elements. Typically, we use self-drilling screws with a partial thread and conical head, which pull and press the connected wooden elements. The type of screws should be tailored to the type of deck boards. We usually use galvanized screws and A2 or C4 stainless steel screws. It is important to maintain a diameter of 5mm and a length ranging from 40-80mm.

Our installers will also protect your wooden terraces from the harmful effects of weather conditions. The best way to do this is by oiling, which will prevent the boards from losing color, turning gray, molding, or deteriorating excessively.
