Cleaning and maintenance instructions for Walczak floors
TERMS OF USE FOR LACQUERED FLOORS
- High-quality wooden floors produced by Walczak company are made of natural wood. These floors are characterized by high utility and aesthetic values.
- The manufacturer provides a warranty if the installed floors are used according to its guidelines. The operating temperature of wooden floors in the room should be between 18°C and 24°C. The relative humidity in the room should be in the range of 45% to 60%. The temperature on the surface of the floor during use must not exceed 27°C. Due to the lack of control over the thermal-humidity conditions in the room during use by the seller, the warranty covers only the natural wood behavior within the limits of the PN-EN 13 226 and PN-EN 13 228 standards. For the first two weeks after installation, do not wet mop the floor. During this period, maintenance is limited to dry vacuuming or dry wiping. Cleaning and maintenance of the floor should be carried out only with products intended for this purpose: Saicos Wash Care for regular cleaning, Saicos Refresher for periodic maintenance of lacquered surfaces, Saicos Magic Cleaner for thorough cleaning, and Saicos Lack Polish for renovation and maintenance of lacquered surfaces.
- Daily maintenance should be limited to normal vacuuming or sweeping of the floor. The frequency of floor maintenance depends on the traffic intensity. Sand deposited on the floor surface should be promptly removed. Sand can cause scratches and minor indentations on the wood's surface. Scratches caused by deposited sand are not covered by warranty. Use dry, soft brushes to remove dust. You can also use slightly damp cloths. Under no circumstances should wet traces be left on the floor after cleaning. Any floor damage caused by water or other liquids cannot be the basis for a warranty claim. Felt pads should be placed under all furniture and other interior equipment that comes into direct contact with the floor. For chairs and other furniture with wheels, it is mandatory to use plastic mats, carpets, or rug underlays to protect the wooden floor from mechanical damage.
- The manufacturer recommends conducting manual refreshing maintenance of the floors using Saicos Refresher at least every six months. Before refreshing maintenance, the floor should be dry, clean, and free of other dirt. In areas with higher traffic intensity, the refreshing maintenance should be done more frequently, individually determined for each facility between the contractor and the investor. For strong and noticeable floor dirt, it is recommended to thoroughly clean with Saicos Magic Cleaner using a green pad. After such thorough cleaning, Saicos Lack Polish should be applied using a brush. Rooms with installed floors should be periodically ventilated to stabilize humidity conditions. Under no circumstances should wooden floors be covered with PE film or other materials that do not allow moisture and air to pass through. Mechanical damages resulting from use are not covered by the warranty. Color changes in wood due to light (UV rays) are not eligible for complaints.
- The floor can undergo a renovation process by sanding and re-lacquering. The number of floor renovations involving the "removal" of the top layer of wood depends on the depth of mechanical damage. Before proceeding with mechanical renovation (sanding or refinishing), an analysis of the floor's condition should be done to assess the possibility or impossibility of mechanical renovation. Failure to comply with the above recommendations will result in the immediate loss of warranty for the material and service.
