Art of Wood floors cleaning and maintenance instructions

Wooden floors are subject to natural wear and tear depending on the load. Even in the case of hard types of wood and high-quality surface finishes, signs of wear on the surface cannot be avoided. For this reason, we recommend certain preventive measures and regular maintenance. Our factory-lacquered/oiled floor surfaces hardened with ultraviolet rays are optimally protected against dust and dirt, allowing for easy and trouble-free maintenance. In addition to care, we also recommend the following preventive measures to enjoy your wooden floor for a long time: - Placing protective mats at entrances to prevent the spread of dust, sand, and other contaminants that act like sandpaper on a wooden floor. - Placing felt glides under furniture, especially under chair legs. For office chairs, protective mats or special rubberized wheels are available, which are softer than standard plastic wheels. **Indoor Climate** Since humans spend most of their time indoors, the indoor climate is crucial for both humans and wooden floors. Therefore, it is essential to maintain a healthy indoor climate, as wooden floors, like us, react to atmospheric conditions. The optimal air humidity required is 45 - 60% at a room temperature of 18 - 22°C. Therefore, we recommend using humidifiers, especially during the heating season. **Initial Care - Lacquered Floors** Factory-lacquered floor surfaces do not require initial care after installation. However, to achieve the best final result and create a protective layer for the initial care, we recommend using the ParkettCare product from Loba*, available in semi-matte and matte versions. The semi-matte product is recommended for maintaining our lacquered floors. Before applying products, the floor should be free of dirt and dust, so it should be thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned. We recommend daily cleaning with a soft broom or vacuum cleaner to reduce the risk of scratching the surface. Occasionally, the floor should be wiped with a mop or a well-wrung damp cloth (never wet). For regular cleaning, we recommend using Cleaner by Loba. This product is used to clean light dirt such as beverage stains or food residues that cannot be swept or vacuumed. **Initial Care - Oiled Floors** For oiled floors, after installation and vacuuming, an additional layer of oil can be applied for thorough protection. The recommended product is Osmo 3029. The first cleaning should be done 7 days after installation completion. Daily floor maintenance includes vacuuming or sweeping, and for wet cleaning, Osmo Wash and Care 8016 are recommended. This product not only cleans but also creates a renewable protective layer on the floor, further shielding it from dirt. Wet mopping should be done with a damp, non-dripping mop. If the floor starts to look dull or grey after extended use, it can be refreshed by applying a thin layer of preserving oil Osmo 3029. **Deep/Intensive Cleaning** For removing very tough stains or old layers of care products in preparation for resealing the floor, we recommend contacting a qualified flooring group for thorough cleaning. **Tips for Prolonged Use of Your Wooden Floor:** - Protect entrances with protective mats as dust and sand act like sandpaper. - Equip all chairs and furniture with felt glides to avoid scratches. For office chairs, there are special soft rollers (EN 12529 Type W). - Avoid high point loads such as high heels or pet claws. - Never slide heavy furniture or objects across the floor without using glides. - Clean the floor with a soft broom, vacuum, and only wipe with a damp mop/cloth. - Never mop the floor wet or allow standing water, as it can cause the floor to swell and suffer irreparable damage. - Avoid using standard silicone-based care products (pastes, oils, waxes, etc.) not recommended by the flooring contractor or manufacturer.
